We picked up these beautiful zinnias and sunflower at the local farmers' market last weekend for $6. The kind lady gave me a baker's dozen. I love the different shapes and colors.
Unfortunately, by Tablescape Thursday, the flowers have started to fade ... I changed the water right after snapping these photos.
I used milk glass star-shaped candlestick holders, complete with red candlesticks. These were gifted to me by a family friend. I immediately knew they'd be perfect for a patriotic tablescape.
For the place settings, I used Coca-Cola drinking glasses that I picked from the Dollar General last year for $1/ each. I also included clear glass dinner plates with white ceramic salad plates that I picked from the Dollar Tree three years ago for $1/ each. I placed these plates atop red chargers that I picked from Wal-mart during an after-Christmas sale. I picked a set of 6 of these vintage red-trimmed cotton napkins at an estate sale for $1. They have no stains and look unused. I also included my Coca-Cola bottle salt and pepper shakers that I bought at the World of Coca-Cola in Vegas. The pair was fairly inexpensive, costing only $3. I love useful souvenirs!
The pops of color remind me of fireworks exploding in the night sky! We hope to catch some fireworks shows this weekend. We wish you a lovely holiday and thanks for dropping by!
